Pete is originally from Bowling Green, OH where he first developed a love of being outdoors as he worked summers mowing lawns and performing landscape maintenance work. He graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, but decided to pursue a new direction in the landscape industry. Pete moved to Columbus in 2003 and earned a Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture in 2006. While working towards that degree, Pete worked as a landscape designer for a local design/build landscape company. In 2018, he founded Blue Oak Patio & Landscape as a design/build firm based in Hilliard. Pete lives in Hilliard with his wife and 3 daughters, Clare, Violet, and Anna. He is an active member of the community serving on several local boards, including the City of Hilliard Planning & Zoning Commission, and serving as a Brown Township Trustee. In his free time, Pete enjoys all outdoor activities, particularly visiting parks, playing golf, and working in his yard. He hopes to eventually visit all our National Parks and to visit every State Capitol building…23 Capitols down, 27 to go!

Shelby is an accomplished landscape designer with 15 years of experience in the field. Originally from Lost Creek, WV and a graduate of Hobart & William Smith Colleges in New York, Shelby approaches each job with a personalized touch to focus on meeting her clients' unique needs and preferences while understanding how spaces are used and maintained. Every project receives the same level of care, creativity, and attention to detail. She actively keeps up with the latest landscape design trends through industry engagement and events, such as Blue Oak’s participation in the Columbus Home & Garden Show. Her favorite part of the job is creating 3D designs to help clients fully visualize their new outdoor living space. Shelby volunteers as a judge annually at the Ohio High School Landscape Olympics and she is also a board member for the Columbus Landscape Association. Shelby lives with her husband Mitchell and cat, Silvia, in Clintonville, and in her spare time enjoys being out in nature to hike or garden as well as running in the gym, sewing, and playing video games.

Peyton is a customer service-oriented production manager who has over 10 years of experience in the industry. Originally from Logan, OH, he now lives in the Columbus area with his two pit-mix dogs. Peyton’s favorite part of his career is getting to work with homeowners who are excited to have us at their home to bring their outdoor living space dreams to life. He takes great care to be sure that our customers understand what we are doing each step of the way and that we make any adjustments that they request. In his spare time Peyton is a huge soccer fan, enjoys watching sports, playing golf, and playing video games. His future goals are to start a family and to eventually make it to London to watch a Chelsea soccer match!

Erik is originally from the Oaxaca region of Mexico. He has worked in the landscape industry for over 15 years. Erik lives with his wife and two young children and in his free time enjoys watching soccer and basketball. His favorite part about working in the landscape field is the opportunity to learn new things. He has been training to learn the electrician trade and looks forward to continuing to learn even more about the landscape industry.

Nikolay was born in Novosolovo, Russia and moved to his father’s home country, Ukraine, when he was 14. Coming to the U.S. when he was 30, Nikolay is a skilled craftsman with decades of hardscape installation experience. He lives in Columbus with his wife and they have 4 adult children. Nikolay can manipulate natural stone and pavers the way an artist handles a brush and he pays close attention to each detail. In his spare time, Nikolay enjoys fishing and vacationing in Mexico with his wife. Someday he hopes to travel to Alaska with his friends for fishing

Mackenzie is from Marysville, OH where she grew up with her mother, Heather, and brother, Gage. Mackenzie brings 5 years of experience in landscaping. Her favorite thing about working in the green industry is being outdoors and being able to work with plants to improve the existing landscape. Mackenzie has a very strong attention to detail, is highly knowledgeable about plant material care, and is working towards her goal of achieving Ohio Certified Nursery Technician certifications and growing as a leader with an eye towards a management role in the future. Mackenzie enjoys working on home improvement projects, playing soccer and kickball, and working with stained glass.

Kyle is originally from Escanaba, MI and has lived in 6 different states. He brings 3 years of experience and his favorite thing about the green industry is being able to work outside and having something new in front of him each day. Kyle lives with his Girlfriend, Ashley, and they share one dog and one cat. They are currently saving to buy a house…unless they win the lottery! Kyle enjoys video games, archery, disc golf, and weightlifting. An interesting fact about Kyle is that he played semi-professional football in 2014-2015 for the Sheboygan Rebels.
